Jennifer Glennie, Founding Director, SAIDE
In recognition of her work, the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) conferred upon her the title of honorary fellow and recently, the University of Pretoria awarded her the chancellor's medal for her outstanding contribution to education. She holds an Honours degree in Mathematics from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Masters Degree from the Institute of Education in London. As well as providing overall fiduciary and policy guidance to OER Africa, Jennifer serves as Chair to the OER Africa Management Committee. |

Catherine Ngugi, Project Director, OER Africa
She established the AVU Research & Innovation Facility (RIF) in January 2005 and managed it until September 2007. She holds an MA from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies and is a Rockefeller Associate of the African Gender Institute, University of Cape Town. Having worked in both the private and the public sector, in Anglophone and Francophone Africa, Catherine brings to OER Africa her experience in project management and a high level of inter-personal skills. |

Neil Butcher, OER Strategist, OER Africa
Neil is responsible for conceptualising this OER Initiative into a cohesive long-term program, including the incorporation of complementary OER projects, the design and development of the OER Africa International Partnerships Strategy and oversight of the supporting technical aspects of the OER Africa sustainability plan. He has provided policy and technical advice and support to a range of national and international clients regarding uses of educational technology and distance education. |

Rosemary Juma, OER Africa Project Officer
She has worked with Family Health International (FHI) as a Research Assistant and prior to that as a Training Administrator at the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF) International Training Centre where she played a key role in coordinating all the trainings, tailor-made courses and consultancies organized by AMREF. Rosemary holds a BA in Sociology and Economics from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and is currently pursuing her MA in Project Planning and Management at the University of Nairobi.

Andrew Moore, OER Integration Facilitator
Andrew,has experience in searching, adapting and reissuing open education resources. He facilitates the training of staff at African Higher Education institutions to perform these tasks as part of their course development processes. He also advises on how to effectively employ educational technologies in new course design so that they support effective teaching and learning. He is currently supporting eight African universities in West, East and Southern Africa on various OER / Educational technology projects .

Monge Tlaka, Website Project Manager
Monge has background in IT and database project management. She is responsible for coordinating all the OER Africa website related activities. Monge brings to OER Africa her experience in project management and client liaison as well as varied knowledge and expertise encompassing the fields of Communications, Technology Based Education and Training.

Tony Mays, OER Policy Analyst
Tony reviews institutional policies and makes recommendations about how the policy framework might be enhanced in order better to support the development and sharing of OER. He is particularly interested in the impact of OER development on curriculum, teaching and learning and the potential of OER to improve the quality of ODL programmes and materials. He has twice been President of the National Association for Distance Education and Open Learning in South Africa (Nadeosa, 2000-2002, 2008-2010). |

Donna Preston, Agriculture OER Space Coordinator
Donna is responsible for coordinating the Agriculture OER Thematic Space on OER Africa. The aim of this space is to create a sustainable collaboration of existing organizations as well as the publishing, sharing and localizing of teaching and learning materials that fill critical resource gaps in the African MSc Agriculture curriculum and that can be modified for other downstream uses. Donna brings to OER Africa her experience in project management and client liaison as well as varied knowledge and expertise encompassing the fields of Communications, Technology Based Education and Training and Business Analysis. |

Sarah Hoosen, Health OER/Foundation OER Space Coordinator
Sarah Hoosen is a counselling psychologist and holds a Masters degree in psychology from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. She has worked on several research projects in the higher education arena nationally and internationally, with a focus on the supporting the development of various strategies. Sarah has also been involved in evaluating a number of projects in the area of education and technology.

Tessa Welch, Teacher Education Coordinator
She has been involved in hands on materials development, most recently for the national Higher Education HIV/AIDS project that piloted a module in HIV/AIDS for teacher education programmes in all 23 higher education institutions in South Africa. She has worked in the field of quality assurance as well, both with South Africa’s Higher Education Quality Committee and the South African distance education organization, NADEOSA. The main product of this work is a set of quality criteria and case studies from South Africa that exemplify good practice. |
