Step 3. Identify Learning Issues

As a professional Midwife it is important to be able to work out what you don't know! It can be dangerous to treat someone with only partial knowledge. What do you and the group still need to know, or what new skills are required, in order to best treat the woman mentioned in the scenarios? As a group you now need to identify learning issues. A learning issue is a question.

Group Task

1] As a group look over your lists you have created and discuss what issues, knowledge or skills has either been omitted or not fully understood or practiced. Identify as many Learning Issues you can.
2] Then compile a Learning Plan that gives detailed descriptions of the learning issues that need investigation.
3] Decide how the group will go about collecting the required information or skills. As a group you have a choice. Either everyone in the group will focus on all learning issues or specific individuals will work on specific learning issues and then report back to the group on their area of expertise. Ultimately everyone in the group must engage with and understand all the learning issues. Decide on a strategy.
