Potential Solution

Tool / Process: Open CPD Snowball Planning and Tracking Template – adapted from Nerantzi & Beckingham (2015). The tool helps leaders plan, support, and evaluate distributed CPD initiatives when no CTL exists.

Core functions:

  • Map champions and networks: identify initial facilitators (“snowball seeds”) and plan how each will recruit and mentor the next cohort.
  • Design open CPD cycle: outline topic, duration, delivery mode, and use of open resources (e.g., BYOD4L activities).
  • Support and recognition plan: record how facilitators will be acknowledged (badges, workload credit, etc.).
