Scenario A.
Mrs ‘B’, a 30 year old, Gravida 5, Para 4 reports at the labour ward at term complaining of lower abdominal pains and back ache.
Scenario B.
Mrs ‘B’, a 30 year old, Gravida 5 Para 4 is admitted to the labour ward today at noon complaining of lower abdominal pains and backache since 7:00am. Mrs. ‘B’ says she has attended antenatal clinic once but has no record. On admission she ruptures membranes, is restless, sweating and is calling, midwife, I want to use the bed pan”
Individual Student Task
1] Read the scenarios (consider scenario A first and then think about scenario B) and view additional related resources such as the photos and video.

Identify and clarify unfamiliar terms and skills presented in the text of the scenarios and the videos;
3] Create a list of terms and issues that remain unexplained. (Save this list for later use.)
4] Assemble your PBL group as identified by your facilitator/lecturer and move onto step 2...
